Can't believe the Devil Wears Prada was on at eleven 30, so fucken early! Only got to hear their last song and i didn't even know it. Oh well. I was kinda disappointed with the mosh pits, but at that point it was too hot and too early for so much physical effort. I prolly drank a good eleven bottles of water that day.
I convinced a couple of my friends to stay for streetlight manifesto. Because honestly, even though I couldn't sit down and listen to ska, but I love their shows because there's just so many happy people. And you get to dance around like an idiot, so why not? That was fun.
I got into a pit during Senses Fail, but i was ultimately disappointed with that whole slot of time. It was early, the sun was hot, i was still trying to get a good feel for what everyone was feeling, the pit really wasn't that great, and my friends were still being a little over protective. on top of that the band themselves kept giving these bullshit inspirational speeches between songs. it was driving me crazy, play your fucken music and get off stage, i really don't care about your little sister or your backstage drama, i don't even care if you're a good person or not i really don't. So that was overall annoying.
By the time A Day to Remember came on, i was in a really good mood. The sun was going down and there was a nice breeze. I got into a couple pits, but they really weren't anything special. So i went up to Andy who's like 6'3" or something ridiculous and he picked me up by my ankles pretty much and i just stood there with my arms up above the whole crowd, smiled, held my breath, and fell forward. Crowd surfing = one of the most awesome feelings. I never worry about falling, and so i never fall. I'd seen plenty of people fall that day, but i don't really weigh enough for them to drop me. It's pretty cool to feel weightless. And the best is the annoyed look on the security guard's face when he catches me.
After that i was in a pretty bad mood for my own reasons and i kinda just wanted to leave. i didn't want to be the dick who makes everybody upset and leave too since i didn't drive, so i tried not to make a big deal. And then Chris called me and told me the whole story and how he was just taking his anger out on me, so i felt a lot better.
This english band called The Gallows started a circle pit so running around let me get rid of some of that bad energy.
Then the last band of the night came on. I'd never heard of them before, i think their name was Escape the Fate. Not bad music, but they had terrible excuses for mosh pits. Literally i went in the middle of one and danced the macarena with Britt just to make fun of the other people in there. So for the next song britt tess and i went up to these two kids with bandanas who were pretty big and decided to start our own. so we did and it was pretty good because as if we didn't piss enough people off pushing them over and back, we then continued on to pulling people into it. It was pretty legit. Then the band called for one of those wall things, where the crowd splits down the middle and then runs head first at one another. That definitely became the best mosh pit of the entire day. I have minimal bruising because i'm short enough to avoid people's fists without even trying, and also guys tend to overanalyze hitting girls. It was fun though, awesome way to get anger out. Overall i had a great time with occasional speed bumps.
